The acronym ESG stands for “Environmental, Social and Governance”, translated into Italian as “Ambientale, Sociale e Governance”: criteria useful for understanding how companies manage challenges and opportunities related to the environment, their social impact and their governance.
An ESG asset is a resource, like an organization or project, whose investment value depends on performance in relation to three main themes: environment, social and governance. The ESG rating assesses investment opportunities and risks by analysing data provided by the company, based on indicators that vary depending on the rating agency. The result is a composite score divided into three main categories:
- Environmental: includes factors such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste management and the use of renewable sources.
- Social: considers aspects such as workers’ rights, respect for human rights, safety at work and inclusiveness.
- Governance: assesses compliance, enterprise risk management and transparency.
The analysis also considers materiality, that is the relevance of each criterion for the company.
LA MECCANICA TURBO DIESEL SPA obtained the score “C – Satisfactory”.
